This week we’d like recognize a valued member of our team, Cassie R Young.
Born and raised in Cuba, New York, Cassie grew up with three brothers and one sister. Since the
age of sixteen, Cassie has been working within the foodservice industry. Her first job was in a
restaurant and she began working on her sixteenth birthday!
Today, Cassie works as a supervisor of Big Al's and Java 101 (both located on the lower level of the Reinhold Campus Center). She sees her food safety certification as her greatest career accomplishment thus far. Since October 2017, Cassie has added laughter and smiles to all those who stop by Big Al's for a delicious bite to eat. Her favorite part of her job is being able to work and cook with students from the college. Due to her kind nature, some would even call her a "mom away from home."
Bethany E., a student worker in Big Al’s, describes Cassie as “a genuine person who displays a positive and personable level of leadership, which keeps us motivated and encouraged”.
While Cassie is dedicated to her career with Metz, she takes great pride in her life outside of the
workplace. When she is not at Houghton, Cassie likes to spend her time surrounded by family
and friends. Being married 8 years now, Cassie has two beautiful children, Madelynn who is 8
and Ethan who is 2.
We are very thankful to Cassie for all she does, and we are proud to have her as a member of
both the team and the Metz family.
