MEET THE TEAM
General Manager Matthew Babbage is a graduate of Wellsville High School and Alfred College and returned to area after working at New York University as resident executive chef and Saint John’s University in Queens as director of campus dining.
A Certified Executive Chef with the American Culinary Federation and Professional Chef II certification from The Culinary Institute of America, Mr. Babbage is a classically trained chef and advocate of healthier eating through better choices.
Campus dining is always changing and keeping up with current trends, ideas and concepts is a large part of what Metz Culinary Management offers. Today’s students are looking for globally inspired dishes with consideration of dietary concerns and restrictions; culture, travel and diversity produce more experienced diners looking for restaurant style food offered in a college setting. Combining culinary knowledge and degree in hospitality and finance from SUNY Empire, Mr. Babbage is excited to become part of the Houghton family.
